Review: SOYO Cigar Pro USB Portable Storage

Recommended Posts

Portable Possibilities

As more and more of the industry movers and shakers, like DELL, foretell the demise of the floppy drive/diskette, USB portable storage becomes a very viable option. The biggest advantage they offer over floppy disks is space. A typical floppy has a capacity of 1.44MB, while even the smallest of the USB portables provides 16MB. The model I will be looking at today is the 128MB variety. Depending on your needs, you can select from the 32MB up to 1GB

I have one of these in 32 Mb (well similar mines by HP) and it comes in handy sometimes. Now that I'm starting my own business I'm sure I'll use it even more. Hmmmm....... might need a bigger one.

Sure you can, if it fits. Remember, these little babies can be used to boot the PC. I'm planning on getting some more myself. I use this one at work all the time. I shuttle between plant sites and this is way easier than replicating my Lotus database and logging in each time.

If you are at all interested in these pens, run, don't walk, to Tigerdirect today. They have a great sale on them. You can get the 128MB for $25 and the 64MB for $10, these are after mail-in rebates. The rebates expire the end of March, so don't wait too long.

I have this Soyo Cigar, 128mb version. I use it for all of my visual basic files at school. It is a life saver. I bought it, because I was sick of losing my stuff on those damned floppies. I am really looking into purchasing the 512mb later this year.. mmmm :D

I love mine too. I use it just about everyday to transfer files from my work PC to my home PC. This way I can slack at work and bring home things I should have done there. :)

I love my lil guy. I have my favorites, document of phone numbers, of course my TO User .ini file for when I play in ememy territory, and my current favorite music album. I enjoy carrying it on my keyring and Im able to use it at school where we are not suppose to hehe. Like in the spanish lab, they dont have CD-ROMs but have headaphones for all the lessons, so I just plug it into the USB port and BAM!. Its also a mac.

now only if i could get a USB port in my car CD player!

Ya know, I think that's where I put my e-mail addresses. One thing I can't find also (and may be there too) is all of my old e-mail messages and sundry other stuff I had on express. God, I hope I find this stuff.
