What kind of CPU do you run?

Recommended Posts

I was an AMD fan for a while, but now I have phased everything out to Intel except for servers, and well, my daughter's little machine...

My main system is a Pentium D840 (dual core 3.2GHZ) on a ABIT i975 board

My backup system is a Pentium D840 on an ECS ATI Xpress 200 motherboard

My laptop has a Pentium M 2.0Ghz (Dell)

My testbed/gamer is a D805 (dual core 2.66 GHz overclocked to 3.70 GHz) on an ECS nForce SLI board

HTPC has a Celeron D 2.66 at 3.0 GHz on a Foxconn i845 motherboard

NAS box is a Duron 1000 on an ECS K7S5A

Test server is has dual Opteron 246 processors on a Tyan AMD based board

My daughter rocks a XP2200+ on a Soyo KT400 board

And the active server has dual 2800+ Athlon MPs on a Tyan AMD based board

Replacement Domain Controller Dual Xeon 2.4

Laptop Centrino 1.4

Oh... and the big slap in the face... I started a new "day" job recently and have a terrible computer... An old Compaq Pentium 4 2.0A with just 256MB of memory. The sad thing is, I saw this same computer for sale on Geeks.com last week for $165, with a coupon and a promo I could have had it for like $150... SHIPPED! But, I guess that is all I get to do my serious work, uggh.

What are you doing now for your "day" job?

I'm an engineer for a pharmaceutical / consumer products company.

Computers are just for fun...

Just started here and had been working down the street at a similar company. That place at least gave me a good computer... Intel P4 2.8 GHz, 2GB DDR2, 80GB SATA drive, and the best part... dual 17" LCDs. Ahhh, the good old days!
