Ok, Here is my situation.

I have been planning this PC for some time... I bought a whole bunch of stuff... everything except my water components, my cpu, and my vid card. Well, the motherboard I purchased is the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, and I have been holding out for the venice core of the AMD 64. Well, the board supports this processor but with only the bios release 1007 and above. My board came with 1004. So, this means I have to flash the bios. HOW THE HELL DO I FLASH THE BIOS WITHOUT A CPU!!!!??!?!?

This leads me to this... I purchase my vid card and A AMD64, flash my bios to the latest version, then buy my new proc... and sell the processor I used to flash my bios with.

Any takers?

That is a tough one.

Maybe it'll post as an unrecognized cpu long enough to flash??

Yeah, your best bet is to flash it with the CPU. Then sell it on e-bay.

BUMP!

So I see from your profile you have the new rig up and running.

How is it?

It has been up and running for some time now. Its fast. It matches all your benchies for your X2
Great! And it should pretty much match my X2. Until it comes to multi tasking then the X2 will be a bit better. I've been playing with settings and I think I've finally come close to finding the sweet spot. All this HTT, FSB, Multi stuff is a little confusing since my last couple rigs were Intel's.
