jsgolfman
nVidia appears to be at a turning point. Where the original nForce chipset was a demonstration of the possibilities of integrated graphics, the nForce2 is clearly geared towards the digital content generation of users who are looking for uncompromised performance. http://www.lostcircuits.com/motherboard/asus_a7n8x/
jsgolfman
Looks like this is getting to be a very popular board. Newegg has increased the price this week from $145 for the Deluxe version to $155. It's still $120 for the standard.
jsgolfman
Standard is now $124. Deluxe remains $155. Yes, they are popular. I think it may be time to check out the Epox. $112 for the LAN/Serial ATA version and $88 for the standard version. Edited by Gman, 27-Feb-2003 You might have missed this comparison at Anandtech, check it out. The Epox comes out on top for best overall board. It's a long review but very insightful if you are thinking about buying this chipset.
jsgolfman
Deluxe is now $160 @Newegg. You keep buying, they keep increasing the cost.
Rbreb13
It all boils down to supply and demand. Supply=low, demand=high equals a higher price.
JimBowy
I know 2 friends with these boards and they love them. My only gripe is that the MOSFETS are close to the CPU socket and makes installing larger Heatsinks much more difficult. SLK-900s for example will NOT fit without modifications. Still, a great solid board and I really feel they are worth the price! Throw in a nice HighPoint RAID Controller and you've got a kicking computer!
