Windows 98 - worth switching to XP?

I'm sitting at my fiance's family's computer right now--a Dell Dimension 4100. P3, 128 MB RAM, Windows 98. Would it be worth upgrading their OS to XP? They don't use the computer much for anything but the net, but I was considering catapulting them into the 21st century. Is is even worth it?

No, That puter doesn't have enough RAM to run XP smoothly. IMO, 256 Mb is minimum and XP really runs better on 512+!

Also CPU speed needs to be 800-1000 MHz+, also my opinion.

If all they do is surf and a bit of office type stuff I wouldn't bother. With the low prices of Dell's these days they'd be better off to just upgrade the whole shebang!

Ditto on that. Unless you really have a need for switching, stick with 98. You can put together a new system for under $400 that will do everything they need.
