Rbreb13
Want a device that can do much more than a simple switch or fan bus, but less complicated than a Digital Doc? Well, it's finally here! Vantec has just introduced a new device called the Nexus Multi-Functional Panel that is easy to use and has more features than any other multi-functional panel I've seen! Vantec was nice enough to send a sample over for testing so let's take a look at what this baby can do for us! Iroc
that thing looks great is it out to buy, couldnt find a price vantec comes out with good looking stuff
Rbreb13
Looks like its not out yet. But should be soon. The Vantec link and then "Where to Buy" didn't produce any results for me, either.
Doggie Fizzle
I have one of these things... well actually the relabeled PC Toys version... what a POS!! Does give 3 temps and controls 1 fan, but it needs to be refined big time!!
Bruceleeon
how so... its peoples ideas that make products better.. share them with us.
Doggie Fizzle
The displays LCD is really crappy, you can only see it from a narrow viewing angle... And if I set the fan to full speed, something on the board inside there made a really annoying whining sound... so the fans max became about 90%... Another problem for others, but not me, is that the USB and Firewire cables are meant to connect to a standard jack (generally meaning you have to route them to the outside of your case), instead of a header or your mobo... Bruceleeon
the noise issue is commen it seems in some other vantec products... http://www.computingondemand.com/reviews/c...201/page1.shtml .. is the lcd viewable in the dark or completely blurred? Doggie Fizzle
The lcd is eluminated, and looks great in the dark... As long as you are almost directly infront of it... I have other lcds that I can see from a steep angle, which is good, since my machines are mid-server tower sized and all sit on ground level... Bruceleeon
have you thought about going with a standard rheobus and a separate LCD for temps? this way you can pick and choose which is best. I tend to avoid the hype about products... before i buy them.. i research the small review sites.. (they are usualy not being paid for advertising by the manufacturer)

I use a dual lcd thermometer, and have a rheobus in there... Actually have a few rheobuses... The display is cool, but the whole thing could use some refinement. Doggie Fizzle
The pic below is of the goods in question... Also had the System Maxx panel in this case for a while... The lcd thermometers are from Compgeeks: http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invti...077758489403053 - sold out now, but they did have them in 5.25 and 3.5 in black and silver The rheobus pictured was from PC Mods, but now I have a similar new one from Jab-Tech...
