IntellAlien
Hi, my friend bought AMD 2600 + ECS mobo and he said that he can overclock it to 2.4Ghz and his CPU temp is about 37*. Is it true. I thought that mobo is suck and there are no way for you to overclock at that speed anyone in here have tried it yet, tell your exprience
jsgolfman
I haven't had any experience with either the 2600 or the ECS, but pushing it to 2.4 at 37C is possible. The stock hsf AMD is now shipping with their cpu's is much better than their old ones and the Bartons rock. Do you have any more details such as core voltage, hsf, psu, etc? Bruceleeon
2.4 seems a bit high for me... It can be done... but there are some things i would like to know. Such as, fsb, voltage, things like that. besides... the 2600 is not a barton is it?
jsgolfman
Both Barton and non-Barton are available.
IntellAlien
I have no idea
Rbreb13
Could be. Anything is possible. But a lot of people claim outrageous overclocks. But neglect to tell you that its not stable at that speed. 37c might be his idle speed temp also.
3x3cUt0r
athlons processors from 2400+ to 2600+ are good for overclocking, with a good memory and a good cooling you can easily hit 2.0-2.4 GHz, on my 2nd i have an 2400+ running at 2800+ with a pair of "PC2700" no-name memory
Bruceleeon
my 2500 is running at 2.2 11x200 at 1.75 with mem at 2,2,2,5.
