Bruceleeon
Well, After much toying and fiddling, its official... my water pump is caput. I lost my CPU and my Video Card. This is what happened: I was messing around inside and decided over the last couple of days to fill and bleed with some fresh water and in doing so, i let my pump run dry for a little bit. Well, thats not the bad part. The bad part came when i decided to play around and fill the kit though the relay... DOH, i didn't look carefully enough and hooked some stuff up wrong, fried my pump and didn't realize it until i learned that my TEMP LCD could read 800F. I was impressed and pissed at the same time. So to this end, I have purchased the new swiftec pump release 2. http://www.crazypc.com/Merchant2/merchant....oduct_Code=9335 along with their new fill and bleed kit, some tubing, coolant and a couple of other odds and ends to try and get back up and running. I am actually excited about getting the new pump, because it no longer needs the relay!!! And the fill and bleed kit no longer requires 2 5.25" bays... This means I can finaly have room to hook up my rheostat to reduce the noise on the 2 - 210CFM 120mm fans I have cooling my radiator. Unfortunately, MY COMPUTER IS FRIED IN THE MEANTIME... geek
I had something similar happen to me recently. I caught it in time though, luckily. Now I have a dual pump setup, incase one goes on vacation. I might suggest you try the same.
Bruceleeon
If one pump went down, wouldn't that impede the flow inside the system? or would it act as simply another link in the chain of obsticals the water must pass through? If it goes down, does the propeller sieze? Hrmm....

Bruceleeon
Well after much confusion, and my ordering of parts from crazy pc... I was shipped the first revision of the pump ( they have a higher failure rating and less performance then the rev2 pumps). Needless to say, im not keeping it... I have been in contact with Nick, from crazy pc, and they are working with me to get me the new pump. Even though this pump was PACKAGED in a swiftech kit, he is still sending me the new pump. Guys, this is what customer service is all about... i am happy they are sending me the new pump, but in the mean time I am still down. Bruceleeon
Man, I am having some luck over here... I get everything ready to get put back together... I take my cpu block apart to clean some of the CRAP out of it.. I tighten it back up and SNAP.. snapped the top off one of the screws off.. now i have a partially recessed screw that i can't tighten or remove. IT LEAKS, needless to say, im waiting on my new block which should arrive in a few days.
Rbreb13
Oh the head snapped off. Thats no so bad. Go to a hardware store and get the proper sized EZout and drill bit. And next time don't torque on it so hard.
