saving images off of the web

i have been saving alot of images of the web lately to use in sigs or to post in the COD forums, but the problem is that every image i save is saved as a .bmp file and i have to go and convert it in photoshop to change it to jpg. After i do this i have to go and delete the orignal .bmp because for some reason it doesnt just change the original copy. i would save them just as a jpg but .bmp is the only option when i click to save an image.

i know someone has a simple answer to this but it has been very irritating

Right click and choose "save as" from there you can choose the format from the drop down menu.

nope. i tried all the stuff they said and nothing. every pic i try to save only gives me .bmp format as an option, and the document is always "untitled"

I have the same prob with it.. .but i live with it. It has a lot to do with the type of page its put on too... If its just an image alone its a bmp. If its on a web pages, you might get mixed results. OR VICE VERSA i can't remember.
