Every Morning when we wake up or if we log-in after a gap of 5 - 6 Hrs it’s easy to choose Combination of heroes...as mostly we go for  Charles Martel  and  Alexander Nevsky as first option and second option after an hour of training is  Conrad the Elder and Saladin and an hour later  Edward the Black Prince and  Winrich von Kniprode are one of the most trusted options available but after that the real confusion begins or say either we should wait for another 3 - 4 hours to get in to the cycle again. Actually what happens is..(It’s my experience) I win three attacks with these combinations and secure 40 to 50 crowns. Now either I'll have to wait for 3 hours for nevsky to get ready or attack with what is left on board...n mostly its unsuccessful n I lose more crowns then what I've earned in those three wins. May be other new or moderate level Shims may also be facing the same issue. To raise my count of Crowns either I'll have to wait or I'll have to spend gold. So I have a suggestion to share the combos of Heroes and in what sequence they can be deployed and I want all The Emperors and Lords to guide fellow shims too..This can be a great support to all the fellow shims to increase Crown count at least from our attacks.

We have 18 heroes out of which we need at least 10 to master and rotate well. All heroes are with their individual kind of ability and weaknesses. Use of 2 heroes of same type of ability or weakness or strength will affect the next attack choice obviously.

First I d categorize Heroes according to Similar Ability and Strength

These 4 heroes are to protect troops and siege weapons. But incapable to take down keep. Martel and Connard can take heavy damage but Maslama and Herman should be kept away from heavy firing.  At Level 3 Martel and Hermann can be used after every 41/2  Hours. At level 4 it increases to 6 hours. The average training time is 1 Hour. So until level 3 we can use only 4 combinations to repeat them. But one of the Shield Hero must be deployed every time.

Tower Attackers are only effective to Towers and are pretty vulnerable. So I believe, no to depend much on them. Navsky and Winrich are Exceptions as they can take down a cluster of towers & emplacements along with Keep, in single click of ability. Both are. Extremely useful if used with any of shield Heroes.

Troopers are best heroes to tackle enemy forces but not very damaging to secure even a start. They can be used on and off to fill the time gap. Troopers are not equipped with heavy damaging ability. For a winning streak I believe they could be avoided.

Keep Destroyers are a must have for combo if we are really willing to secure first Star. Since 3 out of 5 heroes are from Third Tier, the recovery time for Level 1 is 6 Hours and level 2 is 7 Hours. After using these 3 it gets pretty confusing for using a proper replacement. Richard the Lionheart & Charlemagne have ability to destroy keep but they need a clear passage and adequate amount of Infantry and Cavalry to Rush. Still they are very effective if properly practiced and combined with either Shield or Belisarius.

 Belisarius’ special ability to breach the wall is one of the most game changing features of all heroes. Though he is one of the least damaging Heros to enemy defense, Belisarius can give clear passage to all Keep Destroyers. Best Combined with keep destroyers.  

 The above given details may help us decide a better combination and the sequence to have a better chance at winning. I would like to share my combinations as mentioned below:

These are not 100% effective combinations but if we stick to this plan and practice more one the less used heroes, this might work well for all fellow shims.

Well my source of inspiration is our Emperor Mike, as I have seen him successfully using all heroes to their maximum use. And that will come only through Practice and Experience.

Here's my regular rotation:

1. Martel/Nevsky - for obvious reasons. Martel to distract while Nevsky destroys. (2-star victory guaranteed)

2. Conrad/Joan - Use a squad of infantry to trip traps and setoff Watch Signal. Use Infantry to lure enemy troops into my attack point. Convert when all troops are near attack point. Punch hole in wall, and deploy siege weapons + Conrad. (majority battles = 2 star victory)

3. Maslama/Winrich - Punch a hole or two at attack point. Use Maslama's smoke cover to protect ground forces and deploy Winrich to take out towers.

4. Henry/Edward - Use Henry to disable 4 towers. Punch a hole in walls so Edward has a straight shot to the keep.

5. Nikephoros/Saladin - Use Saladin to either take out two key items (could be Cannon Towers/Treb/Watch Tower...or save for two shots at the keep). Lots of meat shield and troops to protect your trebs. Let Trebs do most of the destroying of Towers/GH/Watch Towers.

After I use up these five, I usually start back at 1.

If not, at 6, I've lately been using Martel/Tariq! Martel to distract towers and enemy troops, and Tariq to burn enemy troops that flock to Martel.

First, Stan - thanks a ton for your tips. 

Can other folks add in tips on hero combinations like Mike has done. I would love to get tips on how to use them better and not just which ones go together well. Struggling with a few and its quite tough to follow the chat on the game now as its overflowing :) (a good sign)

My combos

- Maslama + Winrich

- Belli + Edwards (But not very good, trying to get Goofy's tips in)

- Martel + Nevsky, though think I can move some of these around

Trying to learn how to use Richard/ Conrad/ etc right now, so would love more tips on that.

my hero combo is not that static but I have 3 main hero's on basis of which I win fight.They r Edward , Conrad and Martel. My fighting style is also not as refined as MIKE or Any Other lord or Emperor but still I will share it with u

1. Martel with nevsky or nikephoros (depends on availability of hero)

2.Conrad with Saladin or nikephoros

3.Beli with Edward ( but works only with age 7 keep )

4.henry with nikephoros or nevsky

that's all I have but u can also go for a weak hero with Conrad and Martel and have much wider hero combo scope

for eg Martel with Charle or Conrad with rurik

hi guys ..thanx a ton for sharing thoughts ...hey Urmomatoo ....glad to see u approaching 1k....well see ...for me cornards success rate is more then martel....all i do is drop 8 Rams n Charge em with cornard and no matter how many walls or towers surround it ...it brings down the keep in 1 command ...i learned that from LO1 Shim the old tank guys...u can go through my attacks as every 2nd or 3rd attack is with cornard now...but for that i ve to equip n change the Troop order as there ll be less or no trebs ...with cornard and Rams today i ve tried to drop 4 to 5 ladder men too...as cornard and martel works as shield ...laddermen quickly takes down WS and Emplacements .so go ahead and use em freely...n i d also suggest you to move to age 7 as there ur heroes will be more powerfull.
