jsgolfman
I was first introduced to the Linux operating system almost a year ago. I don't think I first tried it because I wanted something new. I didn't really even hate Windows as a product. No, I made the switch as a matter of principle. How dare MS charge $500 (Canadian) for an operating system? I have to pay $500 dollars just to use my computer? I already paid a grand for it, now I have to buy Windows before I can even use it? That's just not fair. http://www.gamingin3d.com/reviews/redhat8/

jsgolfman
I wouldn't be using it for gaming. I would use it to play around with and testing. You know, comparison between Windoze and Linux, see how a component reacts under different OS.

Bruceleeon
a few games don't mean (the S-word) to me... when all the new games are released for the operating system... then i will look more seriousely into it. For now, It is a summatime toy. summatime i use it, summatime i don't.
Iroc
Usually when i get into a game that has configurable settings for maximum frame rates or max visual quality, i tweak it out for either. The other key to max performance is the state of the OS, which i always tweak out too. So being that im so used to windows, linux will have to be a play toy until i learn it inside and out. (example games would be the quake series and half life/counterstrike)
