jsgolfman
Just a quick question. I was having thoughts about getting some software, such as Pinnacle Studio Deluxe, to review. I know I do a lot of video editing of DVD movies and wanted to know if we had any readership that was also interested. If so, let me know in the poll so I can judge whether you think it would be something that woud interest you. Also, let me hear your comments as to whether you like being asked or not. I was thinking of setting up a topic for review requests.
Rbreb13
It would be handy JS. Even if we just linked to a bunch of tutorials here would help. I don't have a clue where to begin and what codecs I need or which are better.

jsgolfman
Hunter, how do you feel about writing up a little tutorial or article? Just cover the basics and intermediate, then maybe later we can go over the advanced stuff. I know enough to backup my DVD collection  and do a little editing on my own. I can convert from just about any format to another and can interleave, etc.
hunter-killer25
do i get payed? anyway i'm only familiar with adobe preimier also, i'd have to learn howto use a few codecs *3.11 divx and stufff* because theres a special encoding process *very confusing might i add*

jsgolfman
CD-R. MPEG-2 format, SVCD. It's not as nice as DVD backup, but I also don't have to buy a DVD burner, retail software and expensive DVD-R/RW. It takes time to do, but it's fun. For those of you who watch movies or the like on your PC you need to get VLC. It will play any format. Of course, I still use the DIVx player with my DIVx files. Sometimes VLC can have issues with, ah, certain movies you may obtain. When I get time I will post some other links to my favorite sites and software. Old_Man
Hi All, I was wondering. I've seen the DVDs and media with the -R, -RW, +R, and +RW after it. Some have them all, some only one or two.... Does anyone know what all these mean? The + or - really throw me, I figure the R and RW are the same as on CDs, but maybe I'm wrong there too! Rbreb13
Yup, great site. I learned a ton there about DVD related stuff. It has guides and how to's on damn near everything. And links to other great resources, If you're thinking about gettin a burner or player it also has ratings for them as to compatabilities, etc.
