It has been a while, but I finally built a NEW HTPC for the living room. The old one was a Core2 Duo 8500 and it just wasn't cutting it anymore. BD backups took too long and recoding took FOREVER!

New Hardware:

Case: Can't tell you yet, review coming

Mobo: Gigabyte 970A-UD3

Mem: 8GB Crucial Sport PC3-12800

HDD: ADATA s511 120GB SSD

HDD: Western Digital Green 1TB x 2 RAID 0

CPU: AMD FX 8120

Video Card: Still needs an upgrade AMD Radeon HD 6450

Optical: LG 12x BD Burner

Total Price: $350 for Mobo, CPU, Memory, BD Burner. The rest was stuff I had lying around.

Windows 7 with XBMC running AEON MQ3 Theme and using MySQL for a shared database (Tutorial)

Much Much quicker!
