Boot Loop after Repair install XP Pro

Recommended Posts

I used both ghost and Acronis to image a drive from an old laptop to a new laptop hard drive. I then placed the drive in the new laptop and ran the windows repair install as usual. AFTER I run the repair the system will attempt to boot and hit a blue screen for a split second and then reboot. safe mode does not work either, same response. I tried the repair with both the OEM disk from dell, as well as a standard windows XP Pro disk; same results. during the repair process the laptop keeps asking me for a Toshiba driver that was being used on the old laptop (which it shouldn't be), whether I show it the location of this driver or not makes no difference in the outcome. I know its not a hardware issue because the system was running smoothly on XP Pro before I attempted the ghost/repair, something is hanging up somewhere and I am fresh out of ideas.

Any help?
