Desktop Icons in Ubuntu

Recommended Posts

By default, your Ubuntu (gnome) installation will not put some of the standard icons on your desktop.

These include:

1. Computer

2. Home

3. Trash

These are not hard to get onto the desktop if you know where to look

Press Alt+F2 to bring up the run command window

gconf-editor

expand

apps > nautilus > desktop

and simply check the boxes for desktop icons.
